On November 5th, 2024, the CHANEL Cruise 2024/25 collection stopped in Hong Kong, following its debut in Marseille earlier this year. Held at the Hong Kong Design Institute, the show celebrated art, culture, and fashion, reinforcing the House's longstanding connection with the city.
The evening began with an immersive screening of Modern Flirt, a short film directed by Audrey Diwan, starring Hong Kong actress Angela Yuen and French actor Benjamin Voisin. Released just days before the event alongside exclusive stills, the collaboration set the tone for an evening that celebrated Hong Kong’s vibrant creative scene.
In addition to the runway show, the event featured Radio CHANEL, a series of engaging dialogues with prominent cultural figures from Hong Kong. Notable guests included Chow Yun-fat, Fala Chen, Man Lim-Chung, and Wing Shya, who discussed the growing influence of the Asian diaspora and the role of fashion in shaping cultural identity.
On display at the venue was the Imagine an Elsewhere exhibition, presented by the Hong Kong Design Institute and supported by CHANEL. Open to the public until December 31, 2024, the exhibition featured 16 collective works from 35 students across various design disciplines, including architecture, interior design, communication design, digital media, and fashion.
Following the show, a lively afterparty took place at Shaw Studios, where CHANEL ambassadors and friends entertained guests with a series of performances. Highlights included an exclusive duet by Angèle and Sébastien Tellier, a special performance by dancers from the Ballet National de Marseille accompanied by actress Natalie Hsu, and sets by singer Kalai and DJ Yeti Out.
The event attracted a star-studded guest list, including CHANEL ambassadors Penélope Cruz, G-Dragon, Whitney Peak, and Caroline de Maigret. Prominent local cultural figures such as Carina Lau, Stephen Fung, Angela Yuen, Hins Cheung, and Cecilia Choi were joined by talents from Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, and Singapore, adding to the evening’s dynamic energy. Their presence underscored Hong Kong's position as a thriving cultural hub in Asia.
